View Faye Ann’s World in February

SOME INTERESTING COMING ATTRACTIONS

Propel yourself into Faye Ann Morris‘ uniquely magical and mythical world during the February exhibit in the gallery at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts.

Morris is the featured artist and will exhibit her bold and bright watercolor and acrylic paintings throughout the month of February.

Morris’ paintings create a fantasy world filled with Angels, Ibbies and Twangles romping in beautifully mysterious landscapes.  Each painting is accompanied by an original story-verse composed by Morris.

Sometimes I write before I paint, and sometimes I paint first and write the story after,” said Morris.

The SICA gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5pm and Saturday 11am ti 3pm.  Admission is free. Many of Morris’ paintings will be for sale as well as quality prints from her large body of work.  The exhibit will run through February 28.

The Art Center is located at 2001 North Ewing Street in Seymour, Indiana.

Due to the debilitating effects of rheumatoid arthritis, Morris has had to develop painting techniques that are very unique to her work.

“Many times I do not use a palette,” said Morris. “Instead I paint straight from the tube, leaning my handheld easel on my walker.”

“The effect on her canvas is rich and textural,”said Warren Baumgart Jr., SICA executive director.
