The fifth annual Southern Indiana Festival of Wine and Brews has a new home. Saturday, June 16, the popular community fundraiser will be at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts.
All proceeds from the event will support SICA’s work in the arts and culture. Starting at 2 pm, the wine and beer tasting festival will be held on the beautiful, hilltop property surrounding SICA at 2001 North Ewing Street (State Road 11) in the Rockford area north of Seymour.
The festival will feature tastings from regional wineries and craft beer distributors, an art market highlighting local artists, and live music on the Don Hill Stage. Admission is $20 and will include a souvenir glass for tasting. Lucille’s Restaurant will have food items available for purchase. Advance tickets are available at SICA and at Hildreth’s Liquors in Seymour. The festival will end at 8 pm.
SICA offers free summer concerts and low-cost art classes for children and adults. SICA’s popular summer art camp serves hundreds of local children and teens. The Center also offers scholarships for art students who come from disadvantaged homes. The Festival of Wine and Brews will support these and many other arts and cultural activities that SICA brings to the community.
Festival goers must bring an ID verifying their age and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. No outside food or drinks will be permitted on the property. Numerous musical groups will be performing including Fermata Nowhere and Public Option.
For more information call SICA at (812) 522-2278 or email email@example.com. You can also find the festival on Facebook. This event is made possible by support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Jackson County Visitors Center. Festival discounts are available for overnight stays at the Fairfield Inn in Seymour.
