Special Paint the Town Event Planned for Couples in February

Want a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day?  The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts is offering a special Valentine edition of their popular Paint the Town social painting event in February.

Couples are invited to come together and paint two different paintings that will fit together and create one piece of art.

Moonlight Serenade, named after the painting the couples will work on, will be Saturday, February 11 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at Dakota Ridge Restaurant in Seymour.

The fee is $45 per couple members/$55 per couple non-members .  All supplies provided. One-year SICA memberships are available at $25 for individuals and $50 for a family and include discounts for future classes and events at the Center.

Paint the Town was designed to allow artists of all skill levels to paint a complete picture in a social atmosphere at a pARTnering area business.  Absolutely no artistic experience or talent is required.

All couples are welcome even if they are not couples,” says Darnell Dukes, one of the SICA teaching artists.  “We encourage any pairs including friends and family to come paint.

Space is limited and reservations are required.  To reserve your spot for Moonlight Serenade please call SICA at 812-522-2278 or email sicatreasurer@frontier.com.  You may also register at SICA Tuesdays through Fridays, noon to 5 pm, and Saturdays, 11 am to 3 pm at 2001 Ewing St., Seymour, IN.

Directions to Dakota Ridge will be provided upon registration.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Dakota Ridge staff throughout the event.
